Remote Support

A number of repairs can be performed over the internet by allowing me to connect to your computer. A broadband connection is required, such as DSL or cable internet. Dial up connections are not fast enough to support the constant information being transferred between the two computers.


How secure is this?

I do not use illegitimate software to access your computer.  I have paid the premium needed to safely allow me to connect to your computer and keep all data transferred fully encrypted.  It also allows you to view all work that is performed on your computer as well as gives you the ability to take control and close the connection at any time. The connection is good for only one session so there is no fear of unauthorized access later.

Special Note: Since I am able to view your screen, please close any windows or images you do not wish for me to view prior to beginning the session.


How to begin / What to expect

Contact me prior to beginning the remote support process.  I will ask you some questions about your computer issues to narrow down the possible problem.  After a price is agreed upon, I will collect some customer information from you to enter into the repair order.  At this point I will direct you to Http://connect.sacramentocomputerhelp.com to start the connection process.

When you download and run the software needed to connect, you may get messages from your firewall asking if you want to allow or unblock the connection.  Please ALLOW and/or UNBLOCK the requests.  If the connection is blocked, I cannot connect.

After the connection is made and I am connected to your computer, your windows background will temporarily be disabled.  This helps to speed up the connection and the background will automatically be re-enabled as soon as I disconnect.

Once connected, I will have control of your mouse and keyboard.  A window will open on my end showing me your screen so I can access and repair your computer as if I was personally there.  You can force the program to close at any time by simply clicking the 'disconnect' button.  I will be in contact with you throughout the repair and will answer any questions you may have.


What if my computer cannot be repaired?

If the computer cannot be repaired remotely, then there is no charge. I will still inform you of what the problem is and if any new hardware is needed for your computer. 

If payment was made prior to the repair session, all money will be immediately refunded to your card. Being able to have this option is another reason I use Google Checkout to handle payments.
